Who is Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh?
He is Member of Parliament from Bhartiya Janta Party from Kaiser Ganj constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
He is the President of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
Allegations against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh:
- In Jan 2023, some Olympians and International wrestlers which included Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and others famous sports personalities organized a protest demanding disbanding of the federation due to sexual harassment of female wrestlers by Brij Bhushan.
- This protest again resumed in Apr 2023 where they demanded FIR again Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.
- The Supreme Court of India directed the Police department to file FIR.
- On 28th April 2023, Delhi Police registered two FIRs against him. One of the FIRs was registered under the POCSO Act for offences against a minor.
- A second FIR was registered on similar grounds on the complaint of a few adult female wrestlers.
